Chris Harris qualified as a healthcare professional in 1980 and practiced for ten years including operating department specialisation before a commercial career spanning 27 years in the medical technology sector.

 

An advocate of health technology innovation, specifically in relation to start-up and early stage businesses in life science. Chris was contracted to provide commercial direction to a Department of Health, Pilot National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Healthcare Technology Co-operative Programme (2007 – 2012). He supports a number of companies working in research and development of medical devices, products, services and diagnostics and collaborates with a number of NHS organisations specifically in heath and social care innovation.
 
A Fellow of the Institute of Directors (FIoD) and former NHS Foundation Trust Governor, currently Interim Chairman and co-founder of the Ethos Health Ltd.  He is a member of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Peer Review Collage and has sat on the Design Council Expert Reference Group and Nursing Times Awards judging panel for a number of years.

Allen Pearson is the Owner and CEO of Origin Product Design which is a multidisciplinary design consultancy, formed in 1995, specializing in the development of medical and pharmaceutical devices

Graduated in Engineering Product Design at London’s South Bank

Origin has worked extensively in the Medical Devices and Diagnostics markets.  Projects range from developing complete Intravenous drug delivery infusion pumps, reconstituting lyophilized drugs, controlling fluid paths, delivering sprays and droplets. Fluid path projects have included infusion set design, needle safe IP, headset insertion devices and work with auto injectors.

Origin has also been working closely with GlaxoSmithKline; the world's leading research based pharmaceutical and healthcare company, since 1995. Origin have developed technologies and mechanisms for novel delivery devices and as a result have been instrumental in generating new IPR to protect, extend and develop new market opportunities.
